Georgy Yankov

Georgi Yankov (b. 1964) was born in Sofia. In 1990, he graduated from the National Academy of Arts with a degree in Poster. Five years later, he was invited to join the same department as an assistant. In 2003, he became an associate professor, and since 2010 he has served as a professor in Poster at the Department of Poster and Visual Communication. As of January 2020, he is the Rector of the National Academy of Art.

 

Yankov has worked in the advertising industry for over twenty years and is the author of numerous publicity campaigns and videos. His creative practice spans various areas of the visual arts, including poster, graphic design, objects, installations, and more. He is a member of the Graphic Design section of the Union of Bulgarian Artists and co-founder and chairman of the New Visual International Group.
