Professor Rumen Georgiev - Rum (1947-2008) is a Bulgarian photographer and cinematographer, as well as a long-time lecturer at NATFA "Kr. Sarafov ”. There, in 1997, Prof. Georgiev founded the department "Art Photography", which provided for the first time the opportunity for higher education in photography in Bulgaria.

As a photographer, Rumen Georgiev works in the style of non-event reporting, and his photos reveal in a unique way the beauty of everyday human relationships. On the occasion of Prof. Georgiev's cycle "Ordinary People", the great French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson wrote to him:

"… I was really touched by your beautiful album" Ordinary People ", in which you prove that with attention and heart, all people become (un) ordinary…"

After the unexpected death of Prof. Rumen Georgiev in 2008, his huge archive is lost and today his work remains unknown to the general public.

The exhibition at ONE Gallery shows photographs from the series "Ordinary People", "Village Pub", "Hospital Room № 13" and others, which were preserved in the collections of the Association of Photographic Academy "Yanka Kyurkchieva" and NATFA "Krastyo Sarafov" (donation from Tanya Turlakova).

All exhibited photographic copies are made by the author himself.
